"Enter
Laughing"
- Adult comedy - Okoboji Summer Theater Series
Saturday, August 2
Yes, it's a farce, but it's just as sweet as it can be. Based on the
novel by Carl Reiner, this story introduces us to David who is
frantic to become an actor. We might need to put up a warning sign
in the lobby, because the New York Times reported that on the
opening night of this play, the audience was 'convulsed with
laughter." Since laughter isn't hazardous to your health, take a
risk and join us for a riotous romp with this boy whose parents
would prefer he become a druggist. Side excursions include a late
lunch at Minerva's Restaurant, the Art Fair at Arnold's Park, and a
tour of the Lakes Art Center. Bus departs at 11:00 am; bus returns
home at approximately 10:00 pm. Pick up a detailed itinerary at the
Center. Registration deadline: July 25.
Included: Travel arrangements, bus transportation, travel escort,
dinner and performance.

Leaving Iowa -
Comedy - Okoboji Summer Theater
Wednesday, July 13
A brand new play that not only is an OST premier, but one of the
first few production in the country. A comedy about family
vacations, this is a memory play where a young man relives moments
from his youth when the family would pile into the car and visit
places like Mount Union, Iowa. There can be no one in America who
doesn't recall those long, but wonderful days in the car, with Mom
humming, Dad missing the turnoff and the kids fighting. Be the first
one on the block - heck, in your state! -- to see this special play.
Full itinerary available in May. |
